Biografie
Sequent is a Vienna-based DJ and producer and one of the newest names on Kasra's Critical Music. Her sound lives at the deeper, darker end of drum & bass: tech-driven rollers, heavy atmospheres and liquid that never goes soft. She delivers it with the kind of sharp, controlled mixing that has made her a trusted name for underground D&B nights across Europe.
She came up the old way. She started buying vinyl at 14, was mixing by 16, and built her craft in Vienna's clubs, from Black Market to Grelle Forelle, before taking it abroad. She has since played the UK, Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Sweden and Spain.
UKF named her one of its Ones to Watch in 2022, in a class that included Samurai Breaks, SOLAH and Kara. In 2024 Critical Music chose her as its mentee in the EQ50 mentorship programme, the scheme founded by DJ Flight, Mantra and Sweetpea to back women and non-binary artists in D&B. She has since joined the label's roster. Her track "Fallen" features on New Energy Vol.3, the final edition of Critical's compilation series. It sits alongside releases on Blu Saphir, Mainframe Recordings, Fraktal Sound, PTRNS and Yamatai. Her productions have drawn support from DJ Marky, Patife and Camo & Krooked.
Recent stages include Let It Roll in the Czech Republic and Outback Festival in Austria. In Vienna she played Contrast at Grelle Forelle alongside Calyx and Kasra. She also makes her debut at Critical Sound at fabric, London.
Sequent has always given back to her scene. In 2020 she co-founded AMI|KAL, a collective of women in bass music, with Aras, Jalen Mess and Sarah Allen. That same year she and Aras launched Sunday Sessions, their monthly mix series.
